A USB powered pad to heat your coffee? Somebody teach me Japanese so I stand a chance of being able to buy one. Although I don't think this is the route to go down to reduce my number of coffee vrs. keyboard accidents.

Well here it is, MOTAS (Mystery Of Time And Space). Considered by many to be the granddaddy of all point'n'click games, I've been resisting posting it as I wanted to finish it before I did. However this is the New Years Link clearout and as I'm mailed a link to it every other week, and I haven't got round to playing it for so long, it's got to go. Maybe your comments will finally help me finish the thing.

The point'n'click adventure stretches beyond the confines of just one web site with The Hiding Room. An interesting development adding more depth to the game, but not quite as intense a method as employed by perplexcity (thank goodness). One word of warning - this one has rich animations and graphics, which look good, but which means you can just about forget this one if you're trying to play on a slow connection.
Important Update: If you want to start this multi-site adventure you should really begin at helpmefindjon.com - The whole purpose of the game is to find Jon Harker, something I didn't realise initially as I found the Hiding Room site first.

Do you remember the inflatable church? Well the inflatable pub is definately more useful as long as it doesn't serve inflatable beer.

Some top tips to make your FireFox install even faster by tweaking the config file. Also check these optimization suggestions from last February, back when Firefox was still Firebird, but they're still applicable today. I'm an Opera user most of the time myself, but I do like to use FF occasionally and anything that improves it even more over MSIE is a good thing in my book.

Some seasonal athletic gameplay with Nordic Chill. Take part in the cross country skiing, shooting, ski jump and curling. I actually thought the curling was the best bit, but it's the end part of the game so you'll need to have patience.

Weird - Paper Islands is a web site made entirely out of paper. Well maybe there's a little bit of flash animation as well...

I've just scratched the very tip of the iceberg in playing Perplexcity - it seems you need to get really immersed in it, and it's more a long term project than a simple game. If you thought it took a long time to play some of those point and click adventures this is going to seem ridiculous. From the first couple of pages you just have to hunt for the hidden links, but after that there's a whole world out there waiting for you to investigate. I used the Project Syzygy primer to bring me up to speed with what on earth was going on with the game which I can highly recommend.

Help build a retirement home for the 8-bit sprites who are now getting a bit passed it, in Pixelville Pensioners, a Spectrum influenced point'n'click game. Make an effort and put something back in for those games that gave you pleasure in the past so that they may see out their retirement years in comfort.

Some slightly late (sorry) seasonal point'n'clickery adventure as you do some Overtime At Santa's Factory. Can you get your choice of present out the toy factory? Top tips are to remember to be good at the begining of the game - would Santa really try delivering you a present if you've been naughty, and refer to the 'in case of emergency' memo on the wall if you want to know what you need to do.

Recreate the drudgery of your own corporate drone job, or take a look and see what it would be like, if you are lucky enough to have an exciting job, by building your own cube farm with The Cubes.

Did you know you can download the original Doom for free? Did you know it's only 4.3Mb in Size? Did you know that includes a networking capability so that on a quiet day in the office, like New Year's Eve, you can turn a dull afternoon into a two hour fragfest? I found out today and I had to share the news with you.
