My biggest news this week is that I'm on the verge of sorting out my mortgage for the flat - but after a 45 min phone conversation with
Natwest and a meeting with an Independent Financial Advisor on Saturday - my head is already so bursting with financial lingo and what not that I just can't talk about it any more.
The latest news from Amazon on my camera case is that it will be arriving within the next week - the rest of my order has now been 'dispatched' though - so still no outings for my new camera I'm afraid. Starting to feel a bit nervous about getting back into photography having being following the awesome examples of apparently nothing and a life uncommon - feel my efforts are going to seem a bit feeble if I don't shape up fast.
Big thanks to Jules this week for taking me out to the pub on Friday and forcing me to ostentatiously drink Veuve Cliquot - sometimes a great friend forcing you to drink champagne in your local is exactly what you need to pick you up.
This week I am mostly listening to Sun by Ephemera.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - you can find ANYTHING on the internet - and that includes things you didn't even know existed. Doggles for the dog who has everything.
Handy eng 2 txt converter 4 thOs mob fone moments wen 160 caractRs isnt Enuf 4 all U hav 2 sA.
Or...
Handy english to text converter for those mobile phone moments when 160 characters isn't enough for all you have to say.

Star Wars pictures - well picture - comestically adjusted to include all your favourite chacters from other films shows and websites. I was partiularly glad to see the inclusion of
Ferris Beuler - which reminds me I haven't seen that excellent film for some time now and it's about time I tried to find if you can get it on DVD. I was also glad to see
Peter Pan as I've seen his image photoshopped into all sorts of places -
Jamez Bond Flash springs to mind - and I didn't know who it was but now I've found his
home page.

Chilled-out interactive Flash - try and find everthing hidden inside with mouse movements and clicking. Very absorbing and the music on the walkman is pretty good too. This is another old link originally found at
Seethru - I really wish they'd come out of hibernation.

For those late night computing sessions when you should be asleep but insomnia has struck - it's the go to sleep sheep. Top tip - the irritating advert can be removed by clicking on the background.
Side note - the .be extension on the domain name is the country code TLD for Belgium - which now means I have learnt 2 new things today so I am at 200% efficiency.
Bahianese Le Mix is a funky Flash interactive music thing. A quick search on
google reveals that Bahianese music is a blend of African and Brazilian vibes. This is officially my 'you learn something new everyday' for today. [
Found at Op-Pop].
Update: Also available here if the original link isn't working.

Short but infinitely replayable Flash of Darth Vader being
Bod-esque. This is actually ages old but I haven't found any really good Flash clips recently - if memory serves this originally came from the now mothballed
Seethru.
The 24hr Mt. Fuji web-cam - although it mostly seems to be night time and very very dark when I look at it - but this is probably something to do with timezones. Still - it managed to remind me how much I want to visit Japan - I did manage to go once but - coincidently only for 24hrs - on a stop over back from Oz.
Link found and reproduced from Zfilter.
3D Android adventure game - I've only managed to get to start of the second level but it seems pretty good. Obviously it was only lack of time - not skill - that prevented me from progressing further.

Found this great resource for free on-line photo album services. When I finally start using my new camera - the case is due to arrive this week according to
Amazon - I'll be trying a variety of them out to see which works best for me. I was going to use my free
NTL space - but their FTP server doesn't seem to like me at all and
Canon's service doesn't start until later this year.

Well one week-ish into the new year and it's been a good one so far. Spent most of the weekend with Andy and Daniella at their gorgeous flat above
Pizza Express in Fulham - very good to catch up with friends -chill out - and of course talk
techie-rubbish with Andy. Maybe one day I'll get my act together and move closer into London - it's totally what i want but just so unaffordable. Right now I'm still in the middle of arranging my mortgage for my flat here in
Ash Vale.
I've spoken a couple of times recently by e-mail to lor at the ever excellent apparently nothing photolog - for some reason her stylesheet changed so I couldn't see the site in Opera any more - and when I got home from shopping today not only could I see the site again - but she's also linked to lazylaces - which is my first unless I'm very much mistaken.
Right now it's looking like an early night for me because it's back to work tomorrow with every one back from their holidays - it was very quiet last week. As I'm up to date with all the projects I had to do over Christmas I'm pretty much free tomorrow - which means I could end up just about anywhere this week.
Currently listening to Moon Safari by Air.
