Virtual Insanity is one of my favourite music videos ever, despite making only number 49 in a recent UK poll, and what better way to celebrate the wonder that is Friday night by trying to dance like the be-hatted one. Actual insanity is sure to ensue...

The deceptively simple world of hapland has been frustrating point'n'clickers for a while now, but has been curiously missing from the world of lazylaces. Now however this oversight has been rectified. That's your Thursday f**ked.

I have real trouble understanding American politics (unless The West Wing is a documentary that is), hell I have trouble understanding British politics and I live here. However this flash animation made me chuckle and it was sent to me by a Yale student (ta hannah) so I'm sure it's spot on.

Strictly for the hardcore point'n'clicker (well if you don't speak/read japanese anyway) swan's room was causing a stir in the comments for shift so here it is in it's own right. Help from anyone who could translate the thing for us would be much appreciated...(btw - is it me or is there always a mac in these rooms we get trapped in?).

I haven't really got into the flickr thing yet although I've been following the buzz (hype?) on-line. However the what's in your bag tag section is very appealing to your inner voyeur (what do you mean you don't have one?). Especially as the flickr community is still at that stage in life where a high proportion of early adopters (ie. uber-geeks) are using the system so most of the bags are stuffed with gadgetry. Very interesting.
The bag in the pic isn't mine, just one I picked out at random, my bag is, most probably, sitting in the lost property office at Waterloo station, me having left it on the train in a rushing of the train quickly having just woken up and realised it was my stop moment. Should my bag not be there though I picked up on a couple of great US bag manufacturers that I haven't seen in the UK that could be the source of a good replacement. Timbuk2 and Tom Bihn especially might see me ordering on-line soon.

In The Rough is an excellent animated short but be prepared for a long download. Worth the wait though.

Why am I linking to screensavers that need a graphics cards so l33t to run that they brought my poor little Thinkpad to it's knees when I tried them out? Well a good question to ask. But my dad (centre left of pic) sent me the link and it's not everyday you get a link sent to you by your dad - so here it is. They look like they'd be really good if you have something better than an electronic etch-a-sketch under the hood of your PC.

I do like to get my daily dose of Calvin and Hobbes, but now you and get every episode ever on one web site. It kind of feels like cheating but I can't resist dipping in here and there to have a peek.

I always find the key to a good cocktail is to drink it. If however you take a more intelligent approach, such as if you are a barman (bless you), you may find the Mixilator - an on-line random cocktail generator - quite useful. Pick from a variety of criteria, including strength, to build a cocktail to suit your mood. Just need that liquid delivery over TCP/IP interface and it would be perfect.

Hold the front page! Hold whatever you are doing! You have to play this now! Point'n'click game? Check! Beautiful graphics? Check! Magical sounds? Check! Ability to distract you from whatever you should be doing? Check! If Shift doesn't make you all warm and fuzzy inside you're a cold hearted beast I tells yer! Monday blues be gone! Too many exclamation marks? Maybe! *Deep breaths*

More of Sabrina's adventures for your point'n'clicking delight (thanks to the commentators for picking up on this gem). Sangar Sabrina is definately an easier game (use the tab key if you really are stuck, but you shouldn't have to) but has a bit more of that lovely samorost vibe - it doesn't come close to the original in my book though.
