Smart Car Game
The Smart Car Game (guess what it's advertising) is one of those point'n'click games where you have to click the right things in the right order to let the character progress. The graphics are very stylish, but I wish it had some sound. I had to make my own dog and cat sound effects on the first level (ok - I did actually enjoy that). I think the game is in Taiwanese (I'm guessing from the domain name), but I seemed to progress fine none the less. The only problem I did find was that the game wouldn't play in FireFox, only in Internet Explorer, although this might have been a Flash Player issue; anyway if you have any issues with the game not working you might need to play in a different browser or check Flash Player [subbed by winniethepooh].

Getting Out
Hmmmm.... a point'n'click game called Getting Out where you are trapped in a room with a locked door? I wonder what the aim of the game is? Tricky. I bet that slip of paper in the wastepaper basket can help! Yes - my jet lag is finally fading and I'm feeling very silly today [subbed by winniethepooh].

Derrick Das Adventure
Derrick Das Adventure is a German point'n'click game that features Derrick, a detective who wears a shabby raincoat. I haven't worked out anymore than that as a). I don't know enough German, b). I'm too busy perfecting the silly dance I've invented to do to the weird whistling soundtrack which I just love. Right, I'm off to throw some weird shapes around the Lazylaces office [subbed by calvin].

Riddle School
The idea of Riddle School is to point'n'click your way out of the school before the soundtrack makes your ears bleed. If you are having a relaxing Sunday you may want to turn the volume down before playing [subbed by Big Kid & winniethepooh].

Back From Emptiness
I'm assuming that Back From Emptiness is a point'n'click game in the "escape the room" style. I say assume, as about all there is to see at first glance is a locked door and a window, other than that all there appears to be is a room full of emptiness. With some frantic clicking I have found a discarded match and part of a window blind, but boy is it hard to find anything. Good luck [subbed by Cynthia, Nicop, Tim & winniethepooh].

Mole In One
Mole In One is a cute game, with a cute name, even if, surely, playing golf with moles has to violate all sorts of animal rights. Moving on from thinking about bashing small creatures over the head with a golf club though it has a lovely bird song soundtrack which is sure to chill you out. Collect all the golf balls on each level then go for the flag. Damn tricky to master, but very satisfying when you get going [subbed by Big Kid].

Danaq is another one of those online puzzle thingies, but rather than having to play around with changing URLs it's all done in a nice neat flash file. Also I managed to get quite far without trying very hard which means it's probably ideal for a Sunday when you don't want to tax your brain too much [subbed by winniethepooh].

Websites As Graphs
One for the sad techno nerds amongst you (I know I'm not the only one) the Websites As Graphs tool allows you to see a graphical representation of the HTML DOM of any web site, just plug the address into the input box. The result is pretty flowery patterns like the one above for this site, although if you mess up your HTML I assume it's also possible to produce something fairly ugly as well [subbed by greg & pellia].

Football Kicker
Coming back to the UK I've found the whole country has gone World Cup crazy (how many TV programs?) and it doesn't even start until Friday. But having said that I will be watching the first England game on Saturday, and shall probably be glued to the TV for sometime to come. Anyway, Football Kicker is likely to be the first of many football related games that will be submitted to me over the coming weeks so get practising in this simple game of "keepy uppie". Alledgedly there are even streakers in it (I didn't see any) so keep your eyes peeled and possibly cover the kids' eyes [subbed by Oliver].

The Adventures Of Mr. Tumpkins
The Adventures Of Mr. Tumpkins features that old point'n'click storyline of having your head changed into a pumpkin, and then having to cut yourself a mouth and finding a way to get your old head back. Is there no originality anymore? Seriously though, this is a rather nice little game [subbed by winniethepooh].

Jet Lag
Well sorry for being quiet. I've really been suffering from bad jet lag. I'm not sure if it normally lasts this long, but I've been totally messed up for the last few days and I only just got my first proper night's sleep last night (well even that was fairly weird, but it was close enough). I even started wondering if it couldn't be something else. However I'm feeling relatively normal today so I'm going to try some posting.

Before I start though I was pondering on what jet lag feels like and I came up with something that accurately describes it and also let's me mis-quote one of my favourite bits from Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy (well the g33k genes have kicked back in then):

Ford: "Jet Lag is unpleasantly like being drunk"
Dent: "What's wrong with being drunk?"
Ford: "Ask a glass of water"

I'm not sure if "game" is the right category for Echogenesis, but there's definately some point'n'click in there, and quite frankly with it's pretty graphics, and blissed out music, it's exactly what I need today. Jet lag was playing with my mind and body last night so I only got an hour of sleep, and what with starting back at work today (I've already commuted in and I'm at my desk) I don't think I can handle anything more stressful [subbed by jackie, frustrated & Raeden].
