Irn-Bru Snowman
A nice little twist on the classic Christmas (I'm sure it's already in this year's TV schedule) animation, "The Snowman", is Irn Bru's Christmas advertising campaign "Irn-Bru Snowman". Currently playing on a television near you if you're in Scotland (so I'm told), and available on-line for the rest of us. And if you don't know what Irn Bru is, it is of course the non alcoholic beverage famously "made in Scotland from girders" [subbed by didn't leave a name].

Simon Sez Santa
Mwahahahaha! I have Santa under my control, and, ok, I guess you could too, with the Simon Sez Santa web toy. Type in your command and Santa will do your beckoning! Mwahahahaha! Fortunately being such a group of fine upstanding adults I know that we won't take this as our cue to make Santa kiss Rudolph, get drunk, or fart. That would just be childish, and we would never do that... would we? [subbed by nick s the hamster].

Happy Point'n'Click Christmas Card
Finding the web site address for itsredagain.com on my morning cup of coffee, I started tinkering with the $tarbucks "build your own Flash Christmas card" web-toy-thing I found there to build you all a Happy Point'n'Click Christmas Card. And before you ask, yes of course that's my voice the snowman uses... [via my vanilla latte].

SignBot - make your own animated scrolling text LED sign. My bizarre addiction to on-line sign generators means that I love this for no other reason than it exists. Excellent [via Red Ferret].

Danish Advent Calendar
Ohhhh... suddenly the 1st Of December is upon us and it's time to open door number one on your advent calendar. If you don't have one already try this nice Danish Advent Calendar which looks like it has a different mini puzzle hidden behind each window - today you get to build a little Santa puppet type toy. While you're on the site, also take a look at the homepage for the site which is also cute and has plenty of hidden features top play with. Excellent. That's set me up with some Christmas spirit to face the day [subbed by catraven].

Site News : Alternative Addresses RevistitedA while back I mentioned that if you were ever having problems visiting this site on the regular site address:

http://www.lazylaces.com

You could always use the alternative site address:

http://lazylaces.brinkster.net

Well that still remains true, but after a little bit of work I did yesterday the regular site address should always be working wherever you are in the world (including Denmark which curiously always had problems before this update).

It turns out that some idiot had not changed the lazylaces.com domain name registration, and it still had the old DNS server information on it, despite numerous warnings from my web host Brinkster that they were changing name servers. The miracle was that it still was working at all, even if it failed some of the time (although yesterday it wasn't at all which was what made me investigate it). And in case you were wondering - yes, I am the idiot that should have changed it. What can I say? I'm kind of busy and it just got forgotten. Doh!

Anyway, the net result of all this is that you should all find the regular site address working now (the update was made 24hrs ago now, and should have had time to filter around), and also the submission page should be working again as it knows where the email server is now.

Cheers,
G :o)
