Lazylaces Fulified

Does the Fulifier make web sites look like "all the sites around 1998 made by lame ten year old script kiddies who wanted to prove they knew some HTML" or is it the latest word in retro-chic web hipness? Discuss. Although for what it's worth it did give me a creepy feeling of deja-vu (circa 1998) [via funjunkie].

Lazy Jedi

Normally things go a bit quiet on the blogging front when real life intrudes - for good or for bad - and I just don't have time. No excuses recently though - other than Friday night when I was over in Bethnal Green at Lee Hurst's Backyard Comedy Club which was pretty cool although I was a little bit too drunk to appreciate it - the main reason there have been no posts this last week is that I've been caught up earning my Jedi wings. I'm not always playing computer games but when I get my teeth into one I really like to immerse myself - espeically now I've found out it's good for you.

Jedi Knight II is hardly new but I got addicted to it after downloading the demo from Games Domain. I was actually looking for the Freelancer demo but this turned out to be immensely disappointing unless I was missing something. Anyway I'm in a completely different world now - which is a bit sad - but the up side is that I'm not tempted to be out there spending my mortgage money - something which is still scaring the hell out of me I have to say. I'm sure the Jedi training will come in useful if the bailiffs come knocking anyway.

Finally just a quick sorry to daisy who's film quiz I haven't even looked at yet and she has real prizes and everything. Maybe if the quiz had cool graphics and Jedi mind tricks I would have spent most of the weekend on it. Anyway the closing date is midnight tomorrow so I'm going to give it a crack and I recommend you do too (as long as you don't snatch a prize from my grubby grasp).

Boxteroids

What game could be more low tech that the original Asteroids? If you're starting to mumble somthing about Pong or Zork - stop now - that was a rhetorical question. The point I was getting at is that now Asteroids has gone more low-fi with the advent of Boxteroids which reduces the game to little boxes with none of those pesky non-right-angle angles. What next? 1D Asteroids? Now that I have to see..

Terror-Spotters

The train spotter is seen as the latest threat to national security - a meeting of US security officials in Washington in March reportedly classified "people sitting on train platforms who appear to be monitoring the timing of arrivals and departures" as suspicious behaviour - at some point today I'm going to stop laughing. Hopefully.
