I've been helping out a friend who is visiting London soon by supplying them with some suggestions of sights that must be seen, restaurants that must be eaten at, and bars that must be imbibed in.You don't realise how little you take advantage of what's on your doorstep until you start thinking about it. Anyway while I was coming up with ideas my friend Preeti came up with the excellent toptable which features some great London restauarants, with reviews, let's you book on-line and also has some great special offers. With their points reward scheme I already have enough points for half a chip at McDonalds ;o)

The simple search options are especially useful letting you restrict your restaurant hunt on place, price, cuisine and the like. Searching around the area I work in (SE1) produces quite a tasty list of places straight-off, many of which I wasn't even aware of. This is a site I'll be visiting again and again.

Despite the attempts of my dodgy cutting'n'pasting even my output from the figlet server looks pretty cool (Nb. I had to look it up too - FIGlet is a program for making large letters out of ordinary text).

Singingfish

Having had a few incoming visits from singingfish I went and checked it out - it's quite a nice specialist search engine designed for finding audio and video files. From some quick tinkering I managed to retrieve not only some streaming real audio of current tracks I'm interested in, but also some full length MP3s of older tracks. Naughty I'm sure, but nice none-the-less.

Blue Suburbia

Once again I'm not sure if this is just a stange flash world or a game, but blue suburbia is worth a visit for some point'n'clickery - note it turns your mouse pointer into a light sprite which I found a little confusing at first [ta incog neato].

Afterlife Telegrams

I'm not sure if Afterlife Telegrams are black comedy or disturbingly genuine. They made me chuckle though.
