Gate To The Truth
First up my apologies if Gate To The Truth is a repeat. I remember playing it ages ago, but I can't remember if I posted it under a different name (I certainly didn't post it under the same name - I checked), or if I didn't post it because I didn't understand it. Anyway, here it is, possibly again, and I still don't understand it. It's a point'n'click adventure around what I think is, a Japanese town, with accompanying incomprehensible text. Good luck my linguistically challenged friends [subbed by hooper].

Meg

:
ah, here's where to go from the first screen:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
you start on the 2nd floor, click toward downstairs on the bottom right of the windowframe through the bannister

Comment 14, Monday, January 2nd 2006 03:44:00 PM

Meg

:
Robert, does your "rusted piece of metal" have a Star of David on it? I have a 'magic stone' that I mysteriously acquired in the beginning just with the door and the stairwell.

Comment 15, Monday, January 2nd 2006 03:59:00 PM

Robert

:
I can't see a Star a David on it, have no stone yet.

Comment 16, Monday, January 2nd 2006 04:07:00 PM

Think~Pink

:
If I remember rightly, this game involved clicking around like someone possesed and gathering items, which seemed to appear in your inventory without you knowing why and how.
I think I gave up after the first level because I couldn't find how to continue.

have stone and has a Star of David on it

just missing one item now, can't seem to do anything with the cell phone in street

Comment 19, Monday, January 2nd 2006 04:15:00 PM

Meg

:
You remember rightly, Think~Pink. Although the text sometimes changes - a stone turned into a stick, eg. Infuriating! I'm thinking maybe you have to somehow wait until nighttime, because it says the streetlamps aren't lit yet, and there are too many people in both the restaurant and the ... subway?

Comment 20, Monday, January 2nd 2006 04:15:00 PM

Meg

:
Where is the chalice, exactly? I clicked everywhere on them, still have two gaps in my items - rusty metal is the other one. Robert, final item is:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
behind the cat there's a rock that turns into a stick

Comment 26, Monday, January 2nd 2006 04:35:00 PM

Meg

I also have a grey triangle which appeared in top left corner of the display sometime after I got out of the stairway, and it seems to be some sort of map - it comes and goes...

Comment 27, Monday, January 2nd 2006 04:40:00 PM

Robert

:
I notice that when an item can be used in an area, it will be shown when your mouse moves over it in your invenotry. May be wrong on that but only 3 items show up when at the inside door where key should go.

Comment 28, Monday, January 2nd 2006 05:25:00 PM

Robert

:
Meg, there are shelves to the lower right and looks like a mail box in front, found chalice there on a shelf.

Comment 29, Monday, January 2nd 2006 05:29:00 PM

Robert

:
I believe the triangle shows you the direction you will go when you click the left side of screen

Comment 30, Monday, January 2nd 2006 05:32:00 PM

go to stair well and left click screen area to get to the door,

:
Robert, the stick and the rusted piece of metal are not one and the same. I have 8: chalice, 'magic stone' with star, dagger, stick, rusty metal, coin, key, red sandals. Yagovaggo, I only wish I knew whence the sandals had come.

I haven't really tried to use any of these items anywhere - got frustrated ages ago.

I have all 10 items.

Triangles on the upper left corner disappear when I go upstairs. They come back when I click on a person to display 「方向は東西南北で区別するのよねぇ」? in the screen with some sort of a ring on the ground and get the details of a burnt book.

I'm stuck.

if it helps... the first screen has a hebrew word on it meaning "queens"
I can't see the text here (comes up as squers) but i'll post this game in a israeli site where they might be able to translate and explain some of the game...

will keep u up dated!

I meant 8 items (duh).

Made some progress I think.

Place (by clicking on an item then clicking the triangle) a certain item on a certain triangle. When you place items on the all 4 triangles, the door upstairs opens and gives you a password. If you placed the right items in the right places, the correct password is given. This password is needed to enter the next game at:

http://www.brainsnet.cc/truegate/sef02/sef02a.html

The first password I got apparently is not the correct one :(
