The Control Panel
I don't know if I'd call The Control Panel a point'n'click game, it's far too much of an oddity to be categorised, although you will be doing a lot of pointing and clicking while you play. It makes a little more sense if you know it's by Shaun Salzberg, author of the very different, but equally as weird planets. Anyway I hope you have some success with it, personally my brain has started to leak out of my ears trying to figure the thing out [subbed by helenren].

Here are some hints on how to finish the game, but they're not the solutions only hints.

Switchboard

Each button gives you ones and zeroes in the display screen.

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
Note how the middle value is always zero.

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
The buttons can be moved to the empty space by clicking on the corners of the buttons.

Numeric input

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
Press the bar where wall the wires were located at the start.

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
The diagram shows what is underneath the panel.

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)

Final music puzzle

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)

Switchboard

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
The analysis pauses when something's wrong

That's all I've got.

Comment 26, Friday, February 3rd 2006 03:57:00 PM

Binmania

:
Wire trouble?

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
you have to connect the lights from their left terminal to their right terminal.

i.e. look at the schematic and find out where the first light's left terminal is connected to. then the first wire goes from top left (battery positive) to the point you just found on the schematic. second wire goes from first light's right terminal connection to second lights left terminal connection.

the power must go through the lights from left to right

contrast spoiler

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
see the ickle tiny screws in the corners of the contrast panel? Well, they unscrew. Unscrew them and click on the red panel, it should open. Behind are three cards- yellow, purple and green. Adjust the contrast according to the cards. All you need is common sense

Comment 33, Friday, February 3rd 2006 06:21:00 PM

Dede

:
Oh sorry

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
you need to click on the cards and that'll place them by the screen. Then click on the red panel again and it should close

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
the lights are like LEDs, they have to be connected

Well, I've been able to get all of them except the contrast one. Not sure what needs to be done. Do I need to hit all three colors exactly? Could use some help on this, please.

shannon follow the path + to the first light on left side then from the right of the same light go to the left of the next one ect..
but use the diagram to know what post goes to what side of what light . follow the path though all the lights and then back to the - .
You will need an extra bule wire as posted earlier

how do you work the contrast?

Comment 47, Friday, February 3rd 2006 08:57:00 PM

Bo-
For the contrast:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
You just have to keep messing with the red, green and blue until you find the right match. Just mess with the levers slightly until you get it, if you can get two of the three right, the third one should be automatically accepted when you roll over it.

For the wires:
Thanks for the tip, but. . . .

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
I can't get more than one wire to attach to one dot. Is that just me being stupid? It sounds like they should all be doing a connect the dots thing, but when I try to connect two wires to the same dot it won't let me let go of the second one. ???????

Comment 48, Friday, February 3rd 2006 09:05:00 PM

Shannon

:
You've got to be kidding me!!! I finally got it, and did anybody else notice that after solving all those puzzles you get the same result you do if you just . . . .

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
Just click in the upper left hand corner of the panel
