Citrus Impossible
Set in South America, but written in an Eastern European language I don't even recognise, much less understand, I suspect the most difficult thing about Citrus Impossible is working out what is going on. If you do though, and I haven't yet, it looks and sounds like it might be a nice point'n'clicker [subbed by MsInterpret].

Andy, some people will be offended... Communism has been kicked out of many east-european (ex-sovietic) countries since the Wall is down.

Andy, your knowledge is "a bit" wrong. Czech is European Union member (if you consider EU as communist oraganisation, you're right). And it's not that small country - 10 million people and size is the same as Scotland.

Mio

:
Yep, as the name suggests, it's citrus IMPOSSIBLE if you don't understand the language, particualrly when you have to pick an answer. Very 'linear' too - she walks in a 2D line all the time which just doesn't look right.

Never mind, I'm sure there'll be another good game before long.

Comment 24, Thursday, September 14th 2006 02:12:46 PM

Mio

:
I think we may be wrong about the language. I initialy thought it was european too (czech, hungarian, bulgarian or slovenian possibly), but then I noticed the phrases "senorito" and "buenos dijas" (or something like that) said by the chap eating the apple, which is not any of those languages, but more of spanish origin, so may be some South American language. That said, it may only be that chap who is South American.

This is far too difficult for mere mortals like me!

Ok this still doesn't help the game much but I'm pretty sure it's Turkish, I went back to the original site, copied and pasted some of the text in to google which came up with turkish sites and news so I guess it's that if it helps...

I'm sure it's Czech or Slovakian (I count on Czech). I'm Polish and the language is quite similar. Those "Buenos Dias" or others are because action of the game takes place on citrus plantation in Chile.

Arent there any English gamers out there?!?!?!? LOL

Comment 34, Thursday, September 14th 2006 10:39:14 PM

Not so sharp, are we

:
i'm sorry to be rude, but it's really obviously czech. the plane leaves from prague (praha, in czech). it is not turkish. it is not a spanish-type language, either. the reason there are some spanish-sounding words is because the action takes place in chile, where the lemon grove is. i do speak russian, so it helps a little bit to identify it as eastern european (again, NOT turkish), but come on. use a little detective work.

There was really no need to be so rude. I simply thought it would be easier to identify the language of the site it came from (netcolic.com) as I thought it might be likely they were the same, and that site does appear to be Turkish. So be it if it is Czech, I was only trying to help.

now, WHAT IS GOING ON???

there is an alcohol, fernet stock citrus. with lemon taste. and there is some insect eating lemon trees, so the owner calls the agent - the girl, and asks her for help. so she travelles from prague to the farm and there is where you as a player start.

This game is about the drink Fernet Stock Citrus, bitter alcohol drink with the taste of lemon.
One day a dangerous bug appears on the plantages De Lionello and starts to destroy the production of lemons. The people start as well burn the fields with the special herbs, neaded for the bitter taste of Fernet Stock.
Situation is very serious - is it just a coincidence or an enemy?
The boss of the crisis team desides to call the special agent Lee-Met...

Comment 41, Tuesday, October 17th 2006 09:32:11 AM

M

:
With this game you can win also a price - 6 bottles of Fernet and 5000 czech krowns to spend in the electronics shops.
A winner of the month gets this price. There is already one for October. So let's try next month ;-)
But nobody seems to be interested in this game anymore here.
