Les Quetes de Sagwa
It's not the official translation (that's something like Saqwa's Searches), but my name for Les Quetes de Sagwa is "The Great Canadian Point'n'Click Cat Mystery", which I think is a little more helpful. In the game you play a cat (who I think might be called Sagwa) and you have to search for a variety of objects. That's as far as I've got so far, and I don't know enough French to understand any more yet [subbed by MsInterpret].

Huh? I thought Sagwa was KQED's American show :{
But yeah Sagwa's a kids show and her name means stupid melon head etc etc based on old chinese story
Which doesn't help since I don't know French nor what the actual game in question is about~

I'm stuck on the game with the kite. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be doing-- aside from dodging clouds. But so far I've failed miserably.

how'd u get to a game of kite???

Comment 9, Monday, October 16th 2006 09:27:12 AM

Hotcrossbunny

:
I figured it out. You just have to lower the kite to the ground, while avoiding being hit by clouds, birds, etc. Once you get it to the ground, you get the letter/card/whatever. Has anyone found the flower?

Sorry but translating all of the dialogues would be too much, ask if you need something specific.

Intro: Today is new year's eve. (Describing of what goes on screen).
But then: all of the ornaments for the celebration are gone, you need to find them.

First part: office, you need to find the homely god's portrait and take it to the cook in the kitchen downstairs.

After you're done: cook:"somebody is crying outside!"

Cat outside: the wind has taken away our kite!

Etc.

Lol, you actually don't have to play the arcade games. Click exit game, and you will be asked: "Do you want to let Sagwa do by herself?" Click "oui" and you'll get the missing item without pain :p (Found out by wanting to reset the climbing game).

:
really, lili??? does it work at the end with the arcade game where you have to gather the keys and grapes?

Comment 17, Monday, October 16th 2006 01:34:43 PM

Lili

:
Yes, that's where I found out, cos' I put the big rock in such a stupid place that I was stuck and wanted to reset. It works each time. Close-click (down-right) and it'll ask you if you really wan't the cat to do it on its own, say "oui", and you'll get the item. You don't have to win to proceed.

I checked on PBS.org (US public-sponsored television -- my favorite channel!) for a similar Sagwa game. No such luck. The Sagwa games on there are not nearly as nice as this Quebecois game. Plus, they include things like find all the dustballs in the room, count the koi, or color the picture. Is this a comment on the difference between the intelligence of Canadian kids and American kids? LOL

Plus, they don't even use Sagwa's regular voice on the US Web site. Yes, it IS very sad that I recognize that considering I have no children. :) I'm a product of the American public school system, so maybe I'm just a little behind. ;)

Am I the only one who noticed that in the opening screen, if you take too long at shoosing which scroll to pick, it sounds like the poor kitty is about to have an orgasm?
