Reunion

Reunion is a very cute, and epically chilled, platform game, by developer Mike Bithell, in which you play a sleep walking boy trying to rescue his cat. The controls are a bit odd, involving clicking and dragging beads of light in the direction of travel, but you quickly get used to it, and at the sleepy boy's super sleepy slow speed it's hard to go wrong. Although you do seem to be just a little bit too slow to catch the cat. He always leaps out of the way just before you are about to catch him. But with graphics and music this lovely keeping at the task in hand is no great chore. Add to this a great "pre game" thing involving dragging and twirling musical notes coming out of a tuba, and you have a game of total loveliness, although currently I'm also thinking it's a game of total impossibleness. Now if you don't mind, I have to go, I have a cat to (try and) catch... [subbed by Kerry Dyer].

Sorry. I just snapped. But really, enough, please. I'm loving the game and would love to hear if anyone has caught the cat yet.

The cat isnt catchable. You have to just keep following him around until you get to the end of the level. Then at the end of the game, you catch him. I beat it already. The games kinda fustrating cause sometimes you fall into a wind currect and get carried back to the beginning. X.x

you have to click on the musical note and then make the circle until it fades away

Very nice - great graphics and sound, and a nice control system that I actually preferred over traditional keyboard controls. If there were enemies it would be a different story, but for getting around the level and avoiding a small handful of slow-moving obstacles, it was perfect. :)

Made a great change from the usual 'Run like a maniac or you'll be killed in five seconds flat!' platformers, and I really hope this guy makes more games similar to this.

cute game. It would have been better if he didn't walk sooooooooooo SLOW!!!! It's too long, and it could have had some sort of rewarding ending.

do you have to make the circle absolutely perfect???
'cause it doesn't seem to be working for me, it'll restart the circle by itself....

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
i dunno if this is really a spoiler, but i spun my mouse around the note really really fast....that seemed to do the trick...
Comment 26, Tuesday, June 12th 2007 03:36:02 PM

No, by drawing the circle around the note it will kinda "charge" and when it it "charged" enough it will be carried away by your little helper fairies... but yeah... poor ending for all this effort.

Help With Adding Comments:
SPOILERS/HINTS: Use the special <spoiler>, or <hint>, tags by wrapping them around your comment if you want to provide help in games comment threads. 'Wrap a tag' around your comment by placing one tag in front of your comment, and one tag after. See the examples below:
  • Just type a regular comment.
  • <spoiler>Wrap spoilers for games in spoiler tags</spoiler>.
  • <hint>Wrap hints for games in hint tags</hint>.
If you are still stuck, try copying and pasting one of the examples above into the comment box, or use the hint & spoiler buttons.

AVATARS/GRAVATARS: Comments now support Gravatars if you would like to use your own user avatar/picture/icon on your comments. Simply enter the email address from your Gravatar account in the email field when adding your comment if you would like to use this feature. This is purely optional though, and you do not need an Avatar, or a Gravatar account, to use the comments. Note that if you enter your email address in the email field, but it's not associated with a Gravatar account a default avatar image will be used.
