SimCity Classic Live
When playing Electocity the other day, if indeed, you got it to load at all, if you started pining for SimCity you'll be pleased to hear that you can play SimCity Classic Live on-line for free. But you have to register. Which some people hate. And it only seems to work in Internet Explorer because of some ActiveX control you have to install. Which are two more things some people hate. And on reflection after all these years the graphics suck, maybe they even sucked at the time I can't remember now. Which even more people hate. But if you are a play-ah, and not a hate-ah, head on over and register now [subbed by sean r.].

How has this game only got a rating of 25%?? Remember this is the game that kick started sim! Without it there would be nothing....not even The Sims aka best selling pc game of all time (probably)

Hehee, as far as the graphics go, yeah, that's pretty much the way they looked on the actual game. My personal favorite is the "monster" disaster. Such a nice little Godzilla!

I love this game. It was the first Sims game I played on the SNES, and I really loved the music (and the cheat that got you lots of money). LOL

@ Anno: No, you can't use cheats with this online game. You were able to do a money cheat on the SNES console.

The trick is to not start off too extravagant. I always build a Nuclear plant in the a corner of the map and build out from there, more expensive but less polluting and thus higher land values. Higher land values equal more development. Always zone industry around the edges too, as then pollution is not so much your problem, but your neighbours. If you zone parks next to industry or other undesirable sites like power plants, seaports or airports, then this will increase the land values also. I tend to build around three times as much residential as commercial and around twice as much residential as industrial, but you'll figure this out yourself. Anything that reduces land value, such as traffic will discourage development and cause your city to fail. Traffic problems can often be fixed by replacing roads with rail. Experiment with small, self sufficient towns to see where your'e doing wrong. Also if you build a small town that works leaving you a budget surplus, if you leave the clock ticking for a while you can build up your capital, though watch out for disasters. I just love this game!
