Detective Grimoire is a point'n'click "whodunnit" game where you play as Detective Grimoire himself. Your task is to poke around a fairground looking for clues, and to ultimately work out who murdered Hugh Everton. Be warned though, for those of you that don't like a lot of reading in games, that's there's a whole heap of it to do in this game [subbed by winniethepooh, Jazelock & Mantari].

:Jas: "Heap" (Noun) (Informal): a great quantity or number; multitude: a heap of people.

it was the mechanic
Hikari no sakura
:accidentally voted the wrong choice -_- they did use phoenix wright as inspiration ^o^
Alex
:good game, no walk through really needed, just click items for clues and interrogate the suspects till all but one is stamped innocent. No need to read all the parts either. The final part of piecing together the crime is all just common sense.
PB
:it's taking ages to load...
Linzi
:gees i got to sleep for a few hours and theres loads
more games! argh
Linzi
:ahh i totally dont understand the getting the truth thing
Nannyogg
:I have all the clues but one I can't find it anywhere "sob"
Nannyogg
:Linzi
when the detective starts to ask the suspect a question after you click "get the truth" put the cursor to the left of his face and his eyes move to the left, when the suspect is going to lie the screen flashes white and as soon as that happens move the cursor to the right of the detectives face, his eyes move right and the suspect tells the truth. No need to click when moving the cursor xxx
Claire
:I really liked this, nice and simple to relax to. :)
Nannyogg
:yeeeeeeehaaaaa, I finished, good game
Guybrush
:very good game,promising...
Tough I don't like the voices(sighs, coughs and laughs) the game is entertaining on the whole.
I prefer more point and clicking but the story keeps me going.
I also liked the credits screen :) the little toy like characters are great :)
I really love extras like this:

:Completely off topic, but does anyone know where online I can find some really basis p'n'c stylee games? Or adventure, I'm quite flexible. My work has the world's oldest computers and I can't open 95% of the ones I find :(
Sinead
:I'm missing two clues... and I'm looking everywhere for them! They're on the second row, the second and fifth clues in that row.
What am I missing??
Discodriscoll
:Playing now, it's good. But the voice acting is really annoying. Could have done quite well without it.
NninetyC
:hahahahaahaha, loved your second comment Graeme
Handyrman
:The fifth clou in second row might be
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
either the broken mirror or the pieces of mirror from the floor in crime scene.
The second might be
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
the oil on the ground outside crimescene
Maria

Carlymau
:omg i'm getting really frustrated! i only have one clue left to find, in the middle of the bottom row of the clues! i'm praying for the power of posting, but if any one knows what clue i am looking for, i'd really appreciate it!
Carlymau
:kristen, have you tried talking to the suspects a second and third time?? more conversation topics are added
Gruftschlampe
:@Carlymau: Sounds to me, if you would be missing the clue with the cut wire of the water-spender....
Carlymau
:and you can click on clues to show the suspects the clues.
Carlymau
:got there in the end! phew! good game!
Linzi
:iv got all the clues and 2 supects but iv done everything i can!!
Linzi

Comeon
:Pufje
you didnt have to ruin it by ruining the ending! be smart
Mike
:that was quite easy, but still had good graphics and a good story.
April
:Great game. I recommend everyone take a look at the "Making Of" feature. It really shows how much work it takes.
Mariapuuro
:nice
Jas
:perhaps, instead of " there's a whole heap of it", how about "Library" for a collective noun for reading?..."there's a whole library of it"..there, that looks better!
Jas
:I don't like "heap" in case you hadn't noticed, Graeme.
Fiddlejock
:The "get the truth" won't work for me! It just jumps right back to the detective saying he's missing something.
Hannah Banana
:WooHoo!
Finished it..=D Good Game but a lot of reading!
Whats with the weird little girl though..?
Mysteryfiend
:this game was wonderful
KAOK
:This game is dull. Too much clicking for the same info.
Its a heap
:ya jas because its a whole library of it makes a whole lot of sense
*rolls eyes* :)
Murtaghrox22
:SEQUEL! SEQUEL! Please give sequel!
Angel
:I loved this game! And I was actually able to finish it totally on my own, which is rare for me (the second I run into trouble I sprint to the nearest walkthrough). Good stuff!
Oh, and when you finish, make sure you check out "the making of". It's really interesting.
Clueless
:i'm very frustrated, i can't do anything, i've talked to everyone about all five topics but still have more than one suspect
