Walt's Computer
Walt's Computer is a point'n'click detective game where you must investigate the murder of Sheriff Walt Bannerman, by searching his office and particularly, quelle surprise, his computer. The game is tied to US TV show "The Dead Zone", which I know nothing about, but the game seems nice enough [subbed by Devanni].

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)

if you look at the e-mail above the one you got from chacoranger12, you'll see that there's something new in the database. Its a blueprintwith an address. Talk to the deputy and mention the word coalition. He'll then ask you where he should go. Use the address on the blueprint. That's all

To uncorrupt the external hard drive, look in the deleted email, the one from Sergei Romanov, then take note of the URL.

Notice that after the www is a comma not a period.

Type the URL in the Browser.

Yes, I am still playing.

I finished this week's challenge.

Here's the Aug 5th challenge walkthrough.

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
Talk to Deputy Roscoe using Messenger. Then, tell him to "search". You will hear stuff over the walky talkie and he gets shot.

The person you added to Messenger in the last challenge tells you Roscoe got shot. Tell that person to "help Roscoe"

After a lot of text from him in Messenger, he will tell you to check out the Coalitions website. To find it, look in the email for a new message from Faith Heritage. It lists the website for Faith Heritage. Once at that website, click the link to "Our Friends" (I think that is what it was called).

On this webpage, you will see a link to the Coalition's website.

Here's the Aug 19th challenge walkthrough.

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
Talk to Sherriff Turner using Messenger. She askes if you remember a guy named Leo. Tell her you do not remember him.

After telling you about Leo and VP Stillson, she tells you to take the keys from the top of the filing cabinet and take an unmarked car to a cabin.

Click away from the computer screen so you can see the entire desk. Take the keys from the top of the filing cabinet and you are transported to the cabin.

Click on the cabin to look at the front door (it is green). Then click on the right side of the porch. You will see a wooden box with a handle. Open it and see a log. Click the log to move it and find the keys. Take keys.

Go back to front door view and click on the door. IT will open. Click again to go inside.

Click on lamp to turn it on. Look for a green tool box on the right side fo the screen. Click on and you will see it has a combination lock. WHAM! You get knocked on the head.

Challenge complete.

How come I jumped straight frm the Aug 19th challenge to the Aug 26th challenge without doing the part on the cabin?

I clicked away from the comp screen and I ended up at the jail cell..

Explanation or help pls?

Comment 128, Tuesday, September 4th 2007 03:12:38 PM

I have no explanation, but it happened to me too. I think it's a bug. Perhaps the programmer typed wrong the name of the scene when he changed the actionscript.

Here's the Sep 9th challenge walkthrough
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
1) Talk to Johnny with Messenger. He tells you Walt kept valuables in the green box.
2) Talk to Steve with Messenger. He tells you he got the green box and he took pictures of the crime scene. Find them on the "Hard Drive" under the "Crime Scene" folder. Look at the very last picture "scene14.jpg" Remember the words (i.e. bible verse) shown in the picture).
3) Go to the Faith Heritage website (http://www.faithheritage.edu) and click on the "Favorite Verses" link. Find the same bible verse from the picture. Remember bible verse (Rev. 18:21)
4) Use the numbers of the bible verse as the combination to green box, 1821
5) After box opens, click on item inside

Comment 136, Tuesday, September 11th 2007 09:59:10 AM

SWPickle

:
Diadhuit,

It took me a few times to get it 4 digits just right before the box would open. I had to tweak each dial with the mouse to make sure the number needed was showing in the center of the dial.

Also, confirm that it is the same bible verse in the picture and the same on website. Maybe I typed the numbers wrong on my walkthrough. I did it from memory, since I couldn't go back and replay the level once I completed it.

FYI,

HINT: (click box to highlight/fade)

for those of us who don't watch the show on a regular basis (or, if it was explained in the game, those of us who don't pay close attention), what was the significance of the

death certificate?

Comment 141, Tuesday, September 18th 2007 01:24:03 AM

SWPickle

:
info about the significance of the "Secret.doc" file
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
The death certificate is for Johnny's father and it is a fake. Without getting into too much detail, Johnny and his father both have the ability to see visions of the future, past, etc. "Bad" people faked the father's death so they could hide him and then use him to do their bidding.
