Gymnasium Escape
Gymnasium Escape is a Japanese point'n'click game that looks great, but unfortunately has quite a large language barrier that makes playing it a little tricky. All I've managed to work out so far is how to turn on the power in the storeroom, and I was quite impressed with that. Perhaps between us we can work out what is going on here... [subbed by f00].

Ought the floor in the gym to be so very highly polished? Won't the players slip? And why are the basketball hoops at the sides, rather than at the ends, of the court?

I'm more than a tad frustrated here. A 'tad' is more than a jottle but less than a widget, if anyone's interested.

All these classroom games aren't funny, cause all you can do is clicking away the blue screen.

Well to be honest Pufje I'm giving up because after 15 mins. of making no progress whatsoever I became slightly bored. No staying power I suppose.

Sorry Pufje...but I can't play this game ...it only frustrated me...that I don't know what to do..or should do...because of the language problem

I bet little, little, tiny, tiny Japanese children are playing this game right now and laughing at us.

Unless they can't read enough kanji yet....

Currently trying to rig a tub of pit's blood on the overhead lighting so it'll spill all over that wannabe prom queen, whose telekinetic abilities will set the gym on fire, causing some much-needed mayhem. Yep.

I know some japanese but that really doesn't help me... maybe I don't know enough... doesn't seem to be much to do around this gymnasium anyway..

I have read translatet versions of japanese gamesites. They tell that this is a 3-view game. So we should be able to do something in the state we are in. I have allso tryed to translate som of the messeges in the textbox, but it make no sence and it is really hard to do the way i tried to:

I opend a random japanese news site. And the game. And Notepad. And a Alta Vista translation site.

The i found the same japanese letters as in the game in the japanese newspaper, and copyed them one by one into my notepad. And then i copyed the result from notepad to the translater.

Comment 35, Thursday, September 6th 2007 12:59:17 PM

Handyrman

:
blompäronet, could you translate the 4 possibillytis given when you click the "horse" in the storeage room?

Comment 36, Thursday, September 6th 2007 01:01:13 PM

:
Well I started the game when the first post went up. I've scoured the internet looking for translation possibilities and was hoping my first post would bring good news.....
I'll keep trying as I'm also stuck in the store cupboard!

The red thing in the storage room says

"It is the line pulling"

The second line i can't translate

Comment 38, Thursday, September 6th 2007 01:40:47 PM

Bwansy

:
The second line says something like "lime powder". In Japan, they often use this device to draw lines on the field using lime powder.
If you click on the boxes in the middle, there are 4 actions: ride on it, go into the middle, kick it, and do nothing.
Sorry I can only read a little Japanese.

Comment 39, Thursday, September 6th 2007 02:01:59 PM

Roko

:
Ooh, I understood 'middle'! But that was all and it didn't help.

Comment 40, Thursday, September 6th 2007 02:07:26 PM

Bwansy

:
Some more translations: if you click on something that there are two options in Japanese (with the second character of the top option being the same as the first two characters of the bottom option), the top one is "yes", the bottom one is "no". Keep this in mind because they appear in so many Japanese escape games.

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
If you click on the baskets it willl ask "Shoot?" (Yes/no)

Comment 41, Thursday, September 6th 2007 02:07:54 PM

when you click the "horse" it says
[something]

It increases?

Hmmm....it does say 'English version' to the right of the screen, yet only a minute or so ago I clicked on it and it didn't, only Japanese links....clicked on one and got what looks like a cool Grow type game. Now every time I click I do get the 'English version' link.
