Black Box Mystery
Black Box Mystery is an unusual video clip based game built to promote the Nokia 500 navigation device (so expect navigating shenanigans to feature in the game). Should be a sinch for all you adventurers and puzzlers [via red ferret].

Note: Just in case no one else does the honors I'm going to pat myself on the back for that screenshot. It took me 3 tries to get the right sub-title just at the right time ;)

Man, this game streams way too slowly. Accursed University internet...

The stream is very low. Maybe that is why I refuse to buy a Nokia

:
Not to nitpick, but shouldn't minutes and seconds each be less than 60 for these coordinates (60 arc-minutes in a degree and 60 arc-seconds in an arc-minute)? And shouldn't a company advertising GPS systems know that? Are these coordinates supposed to be in decimal minutes (or decimal degrees) instead?

...So, basically, all Nokia navigation device users are kinda jerks. But its true target demographic consists of incredibly hapless novelty salesmen being driven into the relentless clockwork schemings born of a dark and fevered brain which lie far beyond their control, or indeed, understanding. Hum.

I was sort of hoping that the difficulty would ramp up a wee bit more in the levels, but the streaming was slow enough that "spot the numbers" was fine. But, yeah -- because the game was pretty simple, a bit more explanation to the endgame would have been nice. Any of these would have been nice:
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
a hint to whom the mastermind was, a glimpse into his/her motivations, or how Christopher got out (I'd like not to think that he also lured another person into the trap, though that'd be unexpectedly dark for an ad game).

It should have been his girl-friend, to get him to a surprise party! There would be a bunch of game CEOs who loved his kite idea.

This ending SUCKED!

:
that sucked. i mean, he could just call the cops and get them to trace his call and they'd free him. It gave the impression that the other man had been there for years, and so how'd he eat and drink? recharge cell phone battery? so stupid.

This was about as bad of a ad game for something that I have ever seen and itwas to easy.
