Deep Chalk

With Deep Chalk I'm not sure if I'm playing a point'n'click game or immersing myself in a piece of modern art. And add in some Boards Of Canada esque 'music' and a few unusual controls (it's not just point'n'click) and you get something truly unusual, different and challenging, yet somehow serene. Nice. I can't wait to see what else the creator, Zack Stone, comes up with.

I don't understand *how* to "play with the hooks". I've tried clicking, and mousing over them and everything possible, and they sometimes move a little bit, but mostly they don't respond at all. I'm really not understanding the controls for this game, and have only gotten to this stage (with the drawbridge) due to things responding to heavy use of the tab key.

wow, don't worry Ellers, I'm having a harder time than you in the first level :(

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
I can't activate that button on the back of the post...I've moved some of the hooks and knocked over 2 cups of liquid, and that's it...

suggestions? you don't have to give it right out

finished the draw bridge

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
you first have to find the little 'pixel dots' hidden around the screen. 5 'pixel dots'. Move the diamond to the door and up to the drawbridge. you can see on the three hanging hooks, on the branch there are cut marks. reading from left to right: 1 mark, 3 mark, 2 mark. meaning, play with the far left first, then the far right, and finally the middle. take a ride on the sky tram. "and now that the show is over..."

This is actually a great concept, black and white done good! Hopefully the next installment is gonna come out soon as this was too short, just whetted my appetite :D...I wonder where the story is gonna take us. Where did that tram go? To rainbow land? lol Can't wait to play more. And the music resulting in what we choose to do is kinda neat. Well, Mr. Stone, I guess you're another game author to watch out for. Bravo!

Help With Adding Comments:
SPOILERS/HINTS: Use the special <spoiler>, or <hint>, tags by wrapping them around your comment if you want to provide help in games comment threads. 'Wrap a tag' around your comment by placing one tag in front of your comment, and one tag after. See the examples below:
  • Just type a regular comment.
  • <spoiler>Wrap spoilers for games in spoiler tags</spoiler>.
  • <hint>Wrap hints for games in hint tags</hint>.
If you are still stuck, try copying and pasting one of the examples above into the comment box, or use the hint & spoiler buttons.

AVATARS/GRAVATARS: Comments now support Gravatars if you would like to use your own user avatar/picture/icon on your comments. Simply enter the email address from your Gravatar account in the email field when adding your comment if you would like to use this feature. This is purely optional though, and you do not need an Avatar, or a Gravatar account, to use the comments. Note that if you enter your email address in the email field, but it's not associated with a Gravatar account a default avatar image will be used.
