Kidnapped By Ghosts
Being Kidnapped By Ghosts is actually one of the pleasanter of the possible results of not being prepared for trick or treaters on Halloween, so you better start stocking up on the candy corn now... [subbed by victoria & buji].

It had a bug for me. I was totally stuck, and looked at the walkthrough. Something I had done didn't get me the next clue as it should have done so I gave up.

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
It was lighting the candle that didn't work. I lit it, it showed as lit, but no clue appeared. When I clicked on it again, I got the "this candle is not lit" message.

At that point I just gave up.

It's a pity because I was enjoying it up to then.

puzzle walkthroughs!! :D with caps for your reading convenience. the first room you start in, the one with the red bed - that's Room A.

ROOM A PUZZLE:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
1. Find the hair sticks (they're under the right-hand pillow in Room A) and use them to unlock the chest-of-drawers. Collect that yellow key.

2. Use the key to unlock the door.

CHESSBOARD PUZZLE:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
1. The solution to the puzzle is in Room B. If you click that chessboard by the bed, it'll be recorded on your chalkboard.

2. In the kitchen, on that chessboard table, recreate the Room B chessboard.

CANDLE PUZZLE(S):

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
1. Get the lit candle from the bathroom (use the silver key from the Chessboard Puzzle).

2. Use it to light all the candles you find. Candles are:
-- a. By the giant bookshelf (downstairs; 3).
-- b. In Room C (upstairs, 1).
-- c. In Room F (downstairs, 1; use black key from Ghost Picture Puzzle to get there).

GHOST PICTURE PUZZLE:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
1. Light the candle in Room C (see "Candle Puzzles"). Check out the desk.

2. Rearrange the ghosts in the dining room portrait to match the Room C clue.

BOOKSHELF PUZZLE:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
1. You need to light all three candles beside that giant bookshelf (the one downstairs) for this puzzle to start. Refer to "Candle Puzzle" solution above.

2. Recall the yellow book in Room B. Note which shelf it's on.

3. On the giant bookshelf, find the yellow book in the same place as that other clue-only yellow book. Click it once. The whole bookshelf should shift to the right, revealing a passage.

FLOWER PUZZLE:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
1. The goal is to open all three flowers (red, purple, and black). For the red one you'll need some water. Use:
-- a. The goblet (found in the underground passage, on the throne table... see "Bookshelf Puzzle" if you're clueless here.
-- b. The sink in the bathroom.

2. For the purple flower you'll need the lit candle from the bathroom. Just light the purple candle. Instant gratification is great.

3. For the black flower you'll need the doll found in the Jail (see "Bookshelf Puzzle"). Stick it on the left-hand pillow in Room D (use the black key from the Ghost Picture Puzzle to get in there).

4. Now that all are open, go solve the Machine Puzzle. When that's done, you should be looking at a big purple triangle with a flower outline inside. Click each petal until all three flowers are overlaid on top of each other. For example... the pointy petals should all be red... the round ones should be black... and the lumpy ones should be purple.

MACHINE PUZZLE:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
1. Get the crystal ball from Room F (use the black key from the Ghost Picture Puzzle on the downstairs locked door).

2. Find the machine in the underground lair (if you're lost, you need to solve the Bookshelf Puzzle). See that giant hole? Stick the crystal ball in it.

3. Take the heart it produces and stick that in the "indentation" in the dining room. Now go solve the Flower Puzzle.

...annnnnd you're done! that was fun.
