Use key from ashtray in bureau w/mirror, get battery.
Under tv is pen.
Under bed between boxes is ring.
Use ring on pen to get pen insert.
Razor on cracked window.

Help. I'm stuck with:

ring, bottle (used to get key), battery, pen, lightbulb and blade. I'm thinking I might have to use the blade to get the flashlight and then put the battery and bulb into it and look in the closet where you can turn out the light. But I cant get it.

Also: what's up with the buttons on the rag?
I was able to light red and green in this order:

read the book. notice the pages say "L3R2L1R4". only after reading the book will the coat rack allow you to input the full code.

after the box says "ok"

Just in case anyone else comes along and is stuck. Final steps (I think?):

turned off light and used torch to find key in cupboard (upper left corner)

use key on drawer of dressing table in the middle above chair

Get red key card and some Japanese writing

Use key card on card reader beside door (beside star picture). Light will turn green. Click on door and you're out!

didn't do anything with the book behind the computer and the computer so is there more than one ending??

There is a code/symbols in the cupboard

Turn OFF light AGAIN beside the cupboard in which you found the key for the drawer of the dressing table.

The code/Symbols are similar to those that you can find in the green book behind the computer.

This had me stumped for ages. Cos I put the blade in and heard a noise. But when I went back to the door (I think) it was suddenly OK. Don't forget to turn the light off. The one by the door. You have to move down and unplug it. That should help. So move around. Sorry I can't be more helpful, but my short-term memory is shot.
