Okay, I got it myself:

They miss one clue: You can not make a "cluster". You must make a red "line" and a blue "line".

chair on safety ring in water, a sword, sunscreen, orange and suitcase.
On the suitcase seems to be some sort of code or clue. What's the deal with the guy with the sword and cards?

I did find out that when i re-started the game that i got a different pattern with the 'fixed' red & blues.

I don't know what I'm supposed to be doing now. I got into my room, beat the gambling guy, set the valves up (one doesn't turn), and have a piece of bamboo I can put a few places. The guy at the beach still won't let me go in, even though I have a room key. Help?

You need to create two paths (with possible side paths), one red one blue where there is only one red and one blue path.
There are 17 red squares and 19 blue squares
There can't be a 2x2 area with the same color.
