Employer
In Employer you lock yourself in a basement because it's Christmas Eve, or some-such thing that the story at the beginning of the game, that you didn't read, probably alluded to, and now you must escape again... or something. More importantly, Happy Christmas everyone! [via gotmail].

Hi! I'm too much of a sissy to just walk out and quit, like I'd planned. So instead I'm going to concot some elaborate ruse to be let go. Yup BRILLIANCE!

Story needs some work, I think.

This one seemed to make a bit more sense than the last one. (not the story line though!)

The intro/story went too fast for me to read it... I don't know if I'm an irate tenant; a a disgruntled maid/employee; a ire-raising landlord; or maybe a gruntle-dissing boss-man?

I suppose I could go back and take some screenshots, though...

But first I must solve this... I got aways into it and then (thanks to the "save" feature) decided to step away. There have been a lot of either well crafted hotspots that fell into my line of sight or I've been lucky with them, but I can see how I might have had them to complain about to be honest if I hadn't somehow found them; there is also one bit of gameplay-mechanics/interface-manipulation that I (again maybe just good design disguised?) would probably have complaints about if I hadn't somehow "discovered" it...

Anyway, as it is I still haven't finished with this one.

Oh... I almost forgot: Hi, BetsyBee!

Strange. Normally I just shrug at implausible things in these kind of games like
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
numbers
appearing in
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
liquid
, but because they tried to give me a reason to do it somehow I got frustrated. It always bugs me a bit, but most games don't try to justify it.
The puzzles were okay in my opinion, the hotspots a bit though sometimes. The plot might make more sense if you grew up with Japanese work ethics, maybe? Adding a storyline means that you have to do one thing first before you can do the other, so that's another thing. I give it a 'meh'.

Meh... or worse... I've just been back in and got a bit further; but I was bothered by the arbitrary nature of the way things worked.

I then got stuck for a while and (though I was enjoying the music as it reminded me of Tex Murphy's promised {and KickStart-able} return!) decided to abandon the game. I felt I was lucky to find and "solve" much of what I did and, so, didn't trust that what I wasn't finding or solving was reliable...

I'm curious to find out where I failed if indeed I did fail; but that's about it; I can't rate this one...

Jesus... I just read through the walkthrough...

Not only was it a series of bizarro steps but a totally bizarro story. Tempted to give it a 9%...

If I have to look up a walkthrough just to find out

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)

I didn't spin around enough times in a circle for a number to show up in some fake blood on the floor

you're not doing your job right as a game creator. I may have to write these off.
