Viridian Room (AKA Crimson Room 2)
I'm too darn busy to post anything, but I had to make an exception here. Take your phone off the hook and put your life on hold, the sequel to Crimson Room is here in the form of the Viridian Room. I'm only just working my way through it now, but feel free to start up a help forum in the comments to this thread as before. My one top tip so far is to peak through the keyhole to see part 1. *joy*

Update: The site doesn't seem to be up the whole time, it must be getting a lot of hits, if you can't reach the game first time around try again later.

Spoiler: See the comments for this post for help, alternatively you can find a full Viridian Room walkthru over at nordinho.

HELP!!! : Put the incense on the altar shelf and then try to light it.

Chelsea: Examine the paper with hair on it in your inventory, once you've done that you can pick up the trash can. Most people will have openned the pill bottle as you need the paper inside it to complete the game (but not the drugs).

I can't get the last card on the wall. The fridge is at my bottom left corner, the light at the top, and the skeleton's feet at the bottom. I have tried clicking all over the brown pieces of wood near the ceiling like someone suggested, but I still can't find it. Exactly where is it located?

Wow, The Blue Room was a real letdown. I spent hours on the first two only to beat this one in a few minutes. The "backdoor" to the game posted by Mackeriv works. I can't possibly suggest paying to play it, way too easy. The graphics and sounds were much better, though.

Nevermind, I found it. As it was, I had already gotten that card on the wall and was missing the one on the lamp.

I just have ONE question!

I've gotten the bike lock open, the soul box is made, and I'm trying to prepare the alter.

I have burning incense (but not the incense bundle), the CD in it's case, chilly beer, and NOT the picture of the girl in the frame (I've tried it with the picture too, but it makes no difference).

I know I'm supposed to put the soul box there too, but I can't get it on the shelf! I try clicking everywhere, removing items and trying again, it just won't go on the shelf.

HELP! Once I get that bit I can finish the game.

Comment 421, Wednesday, June 9th 2004 02:28:00 AM

Kaulana

:
Aha. Nevermind, I got it. =)

Neat ending, was that little bit they played at the end, was that part of the backwards track you hear when you open the blue door? I still wonder what that was, I don't know how to listen to it forwards because I can't exactly save it to my computer.

Comment 422, Wednesday, June 9th 2004 02:31:00 AM

Kaulana

:
BRIAN: The lock will unlock by itself when you get the code. It's a little tricky to get the numbers in the right order. I did the date of his last journal entry (for me, June 7), I used the numbers 06 and 07, I forget in what order.

The altar consists of (only once you've unlocked the bike lock) the CD in its case, the beer (it must be chilly), a burning incense stick (but remove the bundle of incense), and then you have to ding the bell. Your soul box must be complete, of course.

KingHuds: The incense is on the top shelf (along with another symbol).

Hannah: You have to pay for the Blue Chamber, although there is a link further up this page (try searching) where you might be able to play it for free (although I haven't tried it myself).

In the Blue Chamber, what do you do after you dial the number? I dialed it & he said "ok" but now I don't know what to do...

Comment 443, Thursday, June 10th 2004 05:19:00 AM

Graeme

:
In no particular order:

Examine the paper with the hair on it when it's in your inventory to lift the trash can.

Describing how to make the soul box is a bit tricky, but actually doing it isn't to bad. Try this that I've written on the subject before:

"I got a bit confused with making the box too. Do you actually have the thing that looks like an unfolded box, rather than just the paper image you made by burning the hair (this confused me for ages)? If you don't then try searching the blanket. If you do match up the paper symbols to the paper in the pill box (draw it out if you have to - I did). Then use the image you made by burning the hair to work out which order the symbols go in. Finally place the symbols on the folded out box you retrieved from the blanket."

Finally, I haven't played the blue chamber yet so sorry I can't help with that.
