this is for anyone who is stuck~
i am such a walkthroughist >:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
1) Focus in on the chest of drawers. Open the top drawer and get the glass cutter.
2) Open the middle drawer and get the glue.
3) Focus in on the dead looking plant! Lift up the plant to get a key.
4) Click around the side of the chest of drawers to get a rolled up ball of aluminium. You can examine this and flatten it out.
5) Move around the room so you’re facing the clock. ZOom in and take the little wheel that’s on the second hand.
6) Focus in on the glass cutter and add the wheel to it.
7) Move round to face the window. Zoom in and use the cutter to cut a piece of glass.
8) Pick up the round piece of glass.
9) Focus on the glue and click the top to open it. Focus in on the round piece of glass and then use the glue on it.
10) Stick the flattened out bit of aluminium to the round piece of glass. You now have a mirror.
11) Focus in on the chest of drawers. Click the left side (as you look) and you’ll see a gap down the side. Then click down on the bottom drawer and you should get a view looking at the bottom from the front view.
12) Use the mirror to look under the drawers. You should see a set of roman numerals. Mine was MCMLXXI which equals 1971 but I think this changes from game to game.
13) Zoom out and open the bottom drawer. Take the safe box and use the key you found earlier to open it. The combination is the roman numerals you found under the drawers.
14) Inside is a jigsaw puzzle, complete it to show the Dutch flag.
15) MOve round to the main door. FOcus in on the key pad and then bring up the Dutch flag. The flag disappears and the red dots start to flash. Watch carefully and look for the green dots which show you which buttons you need to press for the escape combination.

As others have mentioned there is a screwdriver under the table but you don’t need this to complete the game. But hey! It wouldn’t be a room escape without a screwdriver would it!!!

Cheers

i love dutch esc but i think they've written the Roman numerals wrong. for eg. i got VXXLMCM but that's not how it's mean to be written. the Romans wrote them in descending numerical order just as we do.. and so, it should've been MMCLXXV. sorry about the pedantic post but it's my first ever!

Serbian John -- same thing happened to me with the mirror, till I realized you have to put it back on the glowing spot you took it from.

For those having trouble with the roman numerals:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
They're not backwards, just upside down as read in a mirror from below. Google a "Roman Numeral Translator" if you're not sure you've got the right number. G'luck!

Having trouble with the flashing dots? Here's what I did:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
1. Place yourself in front of the keypad to exit.
2. Select the waving flag.
3. Let it begin to cycle through, and write down the first number.
4. Put the flag back into your inventory. It won't go away, it'll just reset.
5. Reselect the flag to get the next number. Write it down.
6. Repeat as needed.

(I'm just not quick enough to catch those flashes on the fly!)

The provided link to this game is broken, but you can find it here: http://escaperoom.net/play-281-DUTCH-ESCAPE-4.html

It was enjoyable and I was able to finish it without a walkthrough. The only complaint I have is how difficult it was to navigate to some of the views. It took a lot of arbitrary clicking in some places!
