Bow Street Runner (Chapter 4)

Bow Street Runner (Chapter 4) is out to play now (although my official email is yet to arrive?) and this time I've actually completed all the previous chapters and have my chapter code ready to hand. Let the crime fighting commence! [subbed by Melissa Wilson & randomguy].

Bow Street Runner (Chapter 3)

Bow Street Runner (Chapter 3) is out now, so I hope you've got your code from Chapter 2 available, otherwise you've got lots of playing to do before you look at Chapter 3... that would be me again btw - I never seem to finish the last chapter until I want to (but can't) play the new one... thanks to the much more organized Jen (my definitely better half) for the screenshot :) [subbed by Kaya, Hype & Crymoon].

Bow Street Runner (Chapter 2)

The second chapter of Bow Street Runner is out now. Unfortunately some idiot has forgotten his "episode code" from part one (I don't even remember getting one if I'm honest) so it looks like I'll be playing all the way thru from the beginning rather than going straight to new stuff (hence the re-used screenshots)... word on the street btw is that work has been done to sort the issues encountered in part one so hopefully it should be a better playing experience this time round [subbed by SyrupJunkie].

UPDATE: Ok, I've played thru part 1 again now (hence the updated screenshot above). It does seem to play much better now, I didn't have any of the problems I had before, and what's more I found more in the game (maybe I just missed it last time though) and I even managed to progress from runner to constable in the esteem system (which I didn't even come near to doing before). It still has those "follow the line" things - but either they've been improved, or I've improved, as I found them much easier this time. Oh - and I've actually started playing the second chapter :) It seems excellent so far (hmmm... point'n'click autopsy - interesting) with a little bit of a gambling twist.

Bow Street Runner

Bow Street Runner is a historical point'n'click murder mystery (note: crime scenes are not suitable for younger players!) set in Georgian London, with atmospheric sights and sounds, which make for an absorbing game, even if it is slightly linear and not too difficult. Even better this is just the first part of a promised series of games for us to get wrapped up in. My only hope is that the later episodes are not so buggy though, maybe it's just the size of the game causing issues (beware the long load times they're not kidding with the "broadband required warnings), or maybe it's my PC, but I had to restart this several times to get through it with load screens freezing and not letting me progress, etc [subbed by Franki, Crymoon, Anjie, anon, Tweetiti, jadee & Mystery].
