Catapult To Krustyland

Catapult To Krustyland may be is a shameless rip off of other catapulting style games (and I think it would even admit that), but flinging things Simpsons style has the kind of appeal I enjoy. Will your attempt be D'oh or Woohoo!? Post your scores in the comments and let us know. The main site promoting the new Simpsons Ride is also fun too (ok then - fun for Simpsons addicts at least), so check it out.

Spamalot

Decide whether you eat your spam as nature intended, or with stinky garlic, in Spamalot, a silly, but very addictive game of catapulting. Talking about addictive, expect to still be singing the theme music to yourself, not to mention to everyone around you, this time next week. [subbed by Mantari].

Slingshot Santa

Slingshot Santa celebrates the true meaning of Christmas, which we all know is about getting elves to hurl Santa out of a giant catapult (are you sure about that? - Ed). Great fun [Subbed by nick s the hamster].

Bring It On

Despite quite liking Australians and not particularly liking cricket I've become addicted to Bring It On this past week - a game which involves bashing prisoners back to Oz with a cricket bat in a festival of non-political correctness. For fans of Penguin v Yeti the game will be a little familiar, although you'll have to understand about The Ashes to get where the game is coming from.

Penguin Vrs. Yeti 3

The third installment of the popular game explores new ways to toss penguins (I still love the original the best though).

Gory Peguin Vrs.Yeti

A while back I linked to the penguin vrs. yeti game which, even this early, I think is a strong contender for the Internet game of the year. Anyway I keep getting loads of referrals for "gory yeti penguin" which I thought was odd, as while not especially kind to penguins, the game didn't seem that gory. A little hunting around though produced this - the super blood thirsty gory version with extra added spikes and landmines. Thumbs up to flabber for the hosting. I hope this satisfies the blood lust of all you gore-searching types. I myself managed a very nice score of over 1200 with good use of the landmines.

Penguin DreamsAndroids may dream of electric sheep, but what do penguins dream about? The cruelty they suffer at the hands of Yetis, or maybe exacting their revenge? This cute little interactive flash thing certainly suggests that the mind of the penguin is indeed a weird place.

What is it with penguins btw? They're one of those re-occurring Internet themes, like toast, that I find fairly inexplicable. I mean don't get me wrong I think penguins are kind of cute, and I love eating toast, but I don't really devote any off-line time to discussing them (with the exception of some time during my last job where a group of us become obsessed with adopting a penguin). On-line though they seem to take up an un-natural about of discussion time. Strange. At some point someone should study the psychology of why some subjects become so focused upon on the Internet.

And if only to add weight to my bizarre thoughts this is probably as good a time as any to mention that I'm in the process of planning a lazylaces toast 'special'. I've been saving up the exceptional number of toast related links I have collected to release all in one go. Just don't ask me why. I've already said I don't understand.

Judging by the word on the street, not to mention the huge number of google hits I've received, Penguin Vrs. Yeti is one of the most popular Internet games ever, so it's only fitting that it should receive it's own "photoshop gallery". Superb.

Penguin Vrs Yeti

Judging by the number of dead sites I've encountered that did host this game, and the number of names it's already acquired (penguin &amp yeti, smack the pingu, and pingvin, amongst others) this is one popular piece of flash fun, but it is well worth trying to track down. Who knew trying to bash a penguin with a baseball bat would be sooo much fun :o) Anyway try this link, or this one which were working at the time of posting to play on-line, or I have a downloaded copy I could mail you if you have no luck (my mail address is at the bottom of page) [originally via hazel].

PS. My high score is 588.8, and Hazel's is a record 593.5. Is your's any better, and if so, what's your secret?

Update: Only 2 days later and the two original links I had for this game have already disappeared. I've updated them with 2 links that are working today (24/01/04) but obviously they may in turn disappear pretty soon. Good luck finding a copy of this game, and if don't have any luck I still have a downloaded version if you'd like me to mail it to you.

Update Again: I've re-updated the links as this games move around the web once more (26/01/04).

Official Update: Play the official version on-line. Thanks to genius Chris for the link - we're not worthy!
